Purpose
Our articles make AI governance, the EU AI Act and related data-protection questions easier for Irish businesses to understand. They provide technical and operational guidance, not legal advice.
Sources and review
We prefer primary sources: legislation, European Commission material, official regulator guidance and provider documentation. Material legal claims are checked against those sources before publication. Every compliance article displays its publication or review date.
AI assistance
AI tools may assist with research organisation, drafting or editing. Sean Twomey reviews the final content, checks material claims and accepts editorial responsibility for publication. Automation is not used to publish unreviewed compliance advice.
Illustrative stories
Stories labelled “fictional composite” combine common situations to explain a risk. They are not presented as real clients, testimonials or completed engagements. Real case studies will be identified separately and published only with appropriate permission.
Corrections and updates
AI regulation and provider practices change. We update material when we identify a significant change or error and revise the displayed review date. To report an issue, email sean@smtdataanalytics.com.
Professional advice
Readiness depends on the organisation, its role, the system and the intended use. Readers should obtain advice from a qualified solicitor or data-protection professional where legal interpretation is required.
